Visit Baltimore Publication cover Spring 2023

2 | Baltimore gave birth to both the Star-Spangled Banner and baseball legend Babe Ruth.

The city also has a lot of other historic firsts to its name, such as the first mile of railroad track laid in America.

Where we learned it: The Spring/Summer 2023 edition of the Visit Baltimore Official Guide, a biannual publication that informs prospective visitors on all things Baltimore.

Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau 2022 publication

3 | A cat named Dude lives at the Delaware Museum of Nature & Science.

The feline has been a fixture at the museum for 13 years and celebrates a well-attended birthday party every March.

The Dutchess County Destination Guide for 2022

4 | The final battle scene in “Avengers: Endgame” was filmed at Staatsburgh State Historic Site in Dutchess County, NY.

Dutchess County has also served as the backdrop to many other movies and TV shows, including the horror thriller “A Quiet Place,” starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, and the comedy “Nobody’s Fool,” starring Paul Newman.

Issue 1/2023 of the Port of Baltimore Magazine

5 | The oldest member of the Women’s Traffic and Transportation Club of Baltimore is as old as the club itself.

At 90, Gloria Weber still participates actively in meetings of the club. She and her daughter have both been Presidents of the club at various times.

Where we learned it: Issue 1/2023 of the Port of Baltimore Magazine, a magazine we publish six times a year on behalf of the Maryland Port Administration.
